Youth Achievement Scholarship
The Youth Achievement Award of the Organization of Chinese American Women, Silicon Valley Chapter, is designed to recognize academic excellence, community service, and active leadership among Chinese-American youth.
The OCAW Scholarship Committee will select a panel of judges to review the applications. The award consists of a certificate and scholarship. Award will be presented at OCAW Annual Officers Installation Meeting in July/August time frame (date/time TBD).
All applicants are evaluated on the following:
- academic achievement;
- extracurricular activities (e.g. athletic performance, artistic talents, leadership in school clubs and organizations, and community service including participation and involvement with OCAW program.)
Qualifications of Applicants:
- Being a high school senior or junior as of Fall 2024 (or current 12th grader);
- Mother of the applicant must be an active OCAW member.
Direction to Apply:
- Fill out the application.
- Submit an official high school transcript (e-transcript is acceptable) and a copy of SAT or ACT scores if available.
- Write a personal essay of one to two pages, describing yourself, your achievements, and your goals; including your involvement with OCAW programs if applicable.
